How the calculation works
The calculator first estimates the sample size for a large population using the selected confidence level, margin of error, and estimated proportion. It then applies a finite population correction when a specific population size is supplied.
The result is an approximate statistical estimate. Real research may require adjustments for sampling design, clustering, stratification, non-response, statistical power, expected effect size, or other study requirements.
